366 High Street, Bangor
« on: Monday 19 December 16 12:50 GMT (UK) »
Looking for a name of  a pub at the above address.
My relations are listed as innkeeper here in 1871

this is way down the bottom of Bangor High Street.
Further down from Valla Chip shop on the opposite side of the road
I think its opposite the Tax office or what used to be the tax office,
I remember around the corner and slightly down the street used to be where the Forces signing office was
Many thanks for your help

An 1895 Directory has it listed as the "Bardsey Island" public House, which ties in with a census original, not easily legible,of the time also.

Had to admit this is a weird name for a pub, but apparently St. Deiniol the Bishop of Bangor was buried n the island in 584
We learn something new everyday
Thank you for your help Roger
