I wouldn't say this was a society wedding, as from the background it looks like the garden of a terraced house.

Just over the back fence of the mansion grounds!!!    ;) ;D ;D    Or maybe not!    :-\

Floral designs on hats was the style during the Edwardian Era.

That's true. My own grandparents wedding in 1911 featured large hats like these with flowers attached. But I still think there is more floral input in this photo!

It looks like there is a small marquee erected behind the fence, but it does look like the back of the house.

...................it looks like the garden of a terraced house.

My opinion is that this is not a small terraced house. For what they are worth, here are a few observations.

1) In the top left of the image, is not just a side wall, but a buttressed wall. It forms the back wall of the off-shot for sure, but indicates that the building is at least twice as long as we can see, as even a single buttress would be around the halfway point.

2) The property has 1st floor plumbing which may be a bathroom, However there are three (I think) waste pipes (of washbasin height) feeding a hopper on the side of the off-shot. Why three for a family bathroom?.

3) There is a 4" soil stack indicating (at least) one upstairs toilet which would be unheard of at this period in a family terrace. The 4" waste stack, if not for a loo could be a rainwater fall pipe for a large roof, but I doubt this as there is already a standard fall pipe to the left of it.

4) To the right hand side there is a large keystone arch which can be seen above the white canopy. I  reckon this is around 5 ft wide and most likely for a double doorway. If the building has any relevance to the wedding, my guess is that the canopy is a temporary fix to provide protection to the guests queuing to enter the building from possible bad weather.

Yes it's a wee joke, referring back to my earlier post (still think it's true though! )
