1900 US Census Lookup Please!

Hello There,

Please can someone help me on a lookup on the 1900 US Census on the Moore Family who on the passenger list leaving Londonderry, Ireland to New York, U.S. in 1896, on the Anchoria.

The Passenger List states as John Moore as 40yrs in 1896, born c1856 different to the 1910 US Census.

i've tried looking for them on the 1900 Census but nothing, or my eyes are deceiving me or i'm wondering if the Census is incomplete or pages missing, but i did find the family on the 1910 Census.

You've neglected to post the relationships between the ones listed in 1910 so here's the 1910 census record to compare to any findings- John Moore is a janitor not farmer and daughter Mary is aged 20 not 4 years old-

Hi aghadowey,

The Moore's are from my grandmother on my mothers side who came from Fordstown, Co Meath, i'm trying to find a connection to this Moore family who also came from Fordstown Co Meath who had some boys who become actors in the silent movies in the US. i have the marriage record of John Moore and Rose Anna Carry in 1882 in Kells, Co Meath, stating as John a farmer. John had died between 1910-1920, as the 1920 Census states Rosanna as a widow.

I don't see a death record for John Moore in Ohio between 1910 and 1920.  He's listed at the same address (526 Clark) as on the 1910 census in the 1911 Toledo city directory, but the 1912 Toledo city directory doesn't seem to have the same John Moore.  It also has a Mrs. Rosanna Moore in the home at 526 Clark, rather than listing her as a widow.  I would strongly suspect that John and Rosanna separated, rather than John dying in that time frame.

Thankyou so much for answering with info.

I'm trying to find John's death, then i might be able to find his birth date, at the moment i have two possible birth dates 20 years apart.

Firstly on the passenger list in 1896 John is 40yrs born c1856, and secondly on the 1910 US Census John is 73yrs born c1837,

The age on the 1910 does look a little suspicious and may well be 53 , the same as his wife not 73

Do you know the names of his parents? Age on death certificate could easily also be incorrect especially if informant wasn't a relative.

Toledo, Ohio is on the border with the state of Michigan so you might want to check there for his death also.

In 1900, Michael E Honan lived at 857 Yondata.  I searched the 1900 census for him [looking for the Moores residing near him] but the images don't appear to include anything lower that 800's Yondota.

In 1900, John L Beigh lived at 237 Yondata.

Cannot read the name, but the man was born in New York and his wife, Ada, was born in Ohio.  Moores are not listed.

Could the Moores have somehow been missed?
