Holland, Glos?
« on: Tuesday 27 December 16 15:21 GMT (UK) »

Trying to find any place name in Glos c. 1850's, which includes the name "Holland."

I have a lady giving Holland as place of birth and Cheltenham as the place she grew up.  Most researchers have assumed she meant Holland the country but I'm not so sure.  I can't find anything which points to why her poverty stricken parents may have been abroad in 1821 when she was born.

Any help appreciated

Hmmm .... Buckland, Newland - oh wait - how about Oldland  ... possible poorly articulated, then mis-spelled and maybe mis-transcribed ?

Many thanks to both of you.  That is just the hint I needed.
