Birth look up please

Should not make any difference but Mary Challenger's family came from Ireland and the family were Catholics so not sure about baptisms on line.

Does the Mary's maiden name of Challenger come Edward Evenden's birth cert in 1893  as the GRO birth index lists his mother's maiden name as Callaghan matching his older siblings?? 

I can't see any birth's with mother's maiden name Challenger on the birth index.   The whole family are certainly elusive in the census and I can't see them together post 1881

If you look at my second post on that thread I found a very sad report in the Morning Post 10 June 1897  of a double murder in Greenwich when an Edward Callaghan murdered his sister Mary Ann Evenden and his niece.  Mary's husband William Everden (a bricklayer) and sons William and Charles are mentioned

We tied back Mary and brother Edward who murdered her to this Callaghan family in 1861

You concluded that the William Everden's wife was Mary Ann Callaghan. I wonder if there was an error on the birth cert

The mother's maiden name is Callagham (could be a "n") address 3 Alfred Place Church St Greenwich.
