My great-grandfather, Henry Cowling, died on 3 October, 1888, age 37, whilst working in the Goldfields of Mysore. He had been recruited in England by John Taylor and Sons and was on a three year, fixed term contract.

I would like to know more about the cause/circumstances of his death. Disease or accident? Where might his death have been recorded/registered?
