« on: Thursday 29 December 16 13:02 GMT (UK) »
Trying to trace and obtain more information about the Finnerty family in 1863 my ggg gran Anne Finnerty married Patrick Ryan in Liverpool in 1863 her DOB was @1845 on her marriage certificate her father was Michael Finnerty DOB @1825.  I don't think he moved to Liverpool and on the marriage certificate 1863 he was shown as deceased.  Any help would be appreciated ...Keith

Can you please list all the information on the marriage certificate, 1863.

Are you saying that the certificate names Ann's father as Michael FINNERTY, who is deceased at 1863, and that Michael FINNERTY  is b. 1825?.

An age for the bride's father would not normally be recorded on a marriage certificate.

Firstly I must apologise for not getting back to you for so long.  I am afraid over the last couple of years personal & family business has got in the way of me looking at my family history.  I will get back to you with any information I have, but I have to say it is very little.

Kind Regards Keith

Wivenhoe,

I have attached the marriage entry, I hope you can read it?

I apologise if I have posted before.  I have kept away from my family research for  while what with family crisis, my family history has taken a back seat.  I have traced many strands of my tree through the Faroe Islands to mainland Europe going back to the late 1300's and yet my Irish side I seem to have only got back to 1841?  I will try to provide as much evidence as I possibly can.

This is all I have for my  gg grandmother:

                                             Ann Ryan
                                             DOB: 1845
                                             County Mayo

English census 1891 provides the above information.

She married Patrick Ryan & they married on the 25 Jan 1863 St Patricks Liverpool

Her fathers name is recorded on the marriage entry, Michael Finerty/Finnerty he was born in Ireland and died in Liverpool.

I know it isnt much but it is some sort of a start and it is all I have ...

Kind Regards
Keith
