Having a lot of problems finding when someone came to UK from Eastern Europe and would like some suggestions as where to look.
For instance of one:-
Joseph Mazorkoff 1867-1934(b.Russia) and wife Rachel Cutner 1870-1945.
There second child Samuel was born in Glasgow in 1894 and presume that is where they landed. Arrival must have been around 1892/1893.
From Eastern Europe they're
unlikely to have landed at Glasgow.
The usual route was via Hamburg, Bremen or from a Dutch port to the east coast of the UK (e.g. Leith (for Edinburgh), Hull, Grimsby etc., if not London), and then by train across to the west coast. Inclusive tickets could be obtained which included the train journey, as the route was originally intended for those continuing their journey to the USA.

You say you have searched Ancestry, but have you searched the
Hamburg Passenger Lists (worldwide subscription needed)? You will need to use germanised forms for the Russian names, and be very creative with the spelling. The handwriting can be very difficult and there are many mistranscriptions.
