You could try the main library which used to be at Grange Rd. Birkenhead they must have archives.

Are you sure it is Birkenhead?  There was a St James in New Brighton but not heard of one in Birkenhead and one is not listed in school records at the archives?

The school was by St James church it was bombed during WW2 a library now stands on the site , all records might be lost but must try and find out if any remain
