Hi , thanks for the tips Annie and ev, Donald Robertson death is correct and Catherine died 1879 aged 80, couldn't find them at first, only been using Scotland's people for a few days now, just getting used to it. When you put in too much info it gets confused, sometimes less is more

Thanks Annie, small edit to that post, Catherine was aged 80 at her death it is recorded as Kinloch, Rannoch . I now have both Donald and Catherine's parents. The search goes on!

Cheers

Hi Craig,

Thanks for letting me know of the 'edit' as the info. I gave you is from the actual Index which is what we all go with or have to go with.

'ROBERTSON CATHERINE 77 1879 (b 1802) 355/A2 12 Fortingall

The Parish would/should have been Fortingall which would include the area of Kinloch Rannoch?

That would not necessarily be the area she lived although within that Parish?

Does it mention Fortingall?

Hi Annie, that entry for Catherine lists as Kinloch, but the ducument itself gives her death as 27 October 1879, Fortingall, aged 80 years

Cheers

Hi Craig

If you get in touch with SP (through their site) to tell them her age is indexed wrongly, they will refund your credits.

I am also trying to find descendants of my great-great grandfather William Wallace Robertson (b.29July 1862 Logierait, Perthshire).  Parents Alexander Robertson & Ellen Scott.

the part I couldn't read appears to be, " place of residence" and it is Carie, Rannoch, Logierait, Perthshire.
Carie is on the south shore of Loch Rannoch.

See https://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/NN6157
https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=56.68860&lon=-4.25832&layers=5&b=1

Although it's a longish way from the village of Logierait, it is in a detached part of the parish of Logierait lying south of Loch Rannoch and surrounded by the parish of Fortingall. That's one of the pitfalls of researching in Highland Perthshire - there's no obvious rhyme or reason to the parish boundaries :)
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
