Thorndon, Pool Green & Mr. James Bains
« on: Sunday 01 January 17 14:06 GMT (UK) »
Today I'm trying to find a James Bains (Baines).

He was a Thorndon based farmer that appears to have owned/operated a mill in Pool Green, Thorndon.

I cannot find much of this man and any pointers would be great.

Also I'm not sure where Pool Green is/was in Thorndon.  The mill was offered for sale at the Black Horse Inn (Thorndon) in 1797.

Any help/advice would be fantastic,

Windy

the Black Horse pub has its own website:
and it seems has a good collection of old photos - maybe worth contacting them.

Thanks for the links.  I think I'm going to have to look into parish records if I'm going to pin mr. baines down

Thanks anyway,
