Thorogood Slingsby died 1789 where is he from ?

Hi ,

So i find my 6th gt grandfather is Thorogood Slingsby, through my 5th gt grandmothers baptism Mary Slingsby 1752 of Armley, Leeds.

i cannot find anything on Thorogood Slingsby, apart from him named on his daughters baptisms, #

Mary 1752 Armley and Rachel 1754 St Peters, Leeds, although states Armley Chapel. so i presume he comes from Armley Area.
i have his burial at St Barts, Armley 23 Jan 1789 of Wortley.

where does he come from ? a very unusual name , i would have thought a baptism of some sort?

any help greatly appriciated

There is a marriage on Anc***y for Tharowgood Slingsby to Eliz Carr at Leeds 11 Sep 1748.  Can't find a baptism for Thorogood though, frustrating isn't it?
