Thanks everyone!

I also wondered why she should be in Brixworth if she is from Manchester.  They'll be a story there!

Thanks
Debbie

Hi again Debbie.

I would have looked at the marriage for you but the Discover department has such
short days-hours now it is difficult to find them open.

Maybe later in the week.

I nipped into the Local Studies today with no luck.

There was no marriage at Pitsford C of E or Brixworth couldn't find the fiche for Spratton.

I tried to look at Moulton for the same period but the fiche were missing.

It maybe a Registry Office one that took place at Brixworth or another Church
but I did not have time or records available (some still held at Parish Churches) to
search further for all in the Registration District.

The certificate has arrived.

Not many clues though.

It was at Brixworth Register Office and Emily noted her father as George (deceased).

Possible information although not Manchester, yet we know how often
mis-informed folk were in places relating to themselves.

Possible parents seem to be George Barnett and Harriet Hill.
On the 1881 census Harriet states to be of Kingsthorpe.
She is in Kingsthorpe in 1851-1871.
Therefore possible parents are Daniel and Hannah.

George and Harriet had 3 children
Lucy J in 1878, William Henry Lewis in 1881 who died in 1882,
and Emily in 1883.
Lucy is in Nantwich Workhouse in 1891 aged 13 and she later
marries William Johnson in 1895 and is on the 1901 in Monks Copperhall.

Sandy,

You are an absolute star!  Thank you so much for all your work on this one.  I did wonder if the Manchester location was something of a red herring.  I'll start working with the information you have found.

Thanks!
Debbie
