Marriage Duffey to Mullany 1852 Stcokport but which church?
« on: Monday 02 January 17 11:40 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the church that Ann Duffey married John Mullany in in Stockport in quarter 4 of 1852. They are both originally from Ireland.
Woollen and the variations thereof (Woolin, Woollin, Woolen etc) in the West Riding area

Thanks, that makes sense as they are living in Heaton Norris in the 1861 census

A copy of the certificate (£9.25 from GRO) should give full details.

A Registrar would attend a Catholic church in those days.

I have never dealt with any kind of catholic marriage before so I'm in the blind a little with this.

Only certain places of marriage upto 1898 could register their marriages

http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/marriageinfo.php

explains that the entry found could be civil, non conformist or Catholic.  To find the place of marriage you would need the certificate
