Where was Sarah Dawson in 1861 ?
« on: Monday 02 January 17 17:25 GMT (UK) »
According to Sarah Dawson's burial in 1865 she was aged 88, so born around 1777.

In 1851 she is living at Colton St aged 71 and her address at burial was Friars Causeway, Leicester, but I can't find her in 1861.  If anyone can spot her I would be very grateful.

Thanks
Carol

This is a long shot - but in 1861 there is a Mary Dawson - widow, aged 82 described as a Frame Work Knitter (I think!) - hospitalised in Trinity Hospital, West Leicester - born Leicester. RG9/2298.

There was also a Mary Dawson around though in 1851 of the same apprx age  - however going back to 1841 - if it was the correct Sarah she was married to a Frame Work Knitter. The Mary Dawson wasn't.

Just a possibility to bear in mind.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Another outside possibility is 79 year old Sarah Sarson visiting Ann Gamble at 8 Old Mill Yard, Leicester in 1861.  From your previous post I remember that her daughter was married to a Sarson, but as there are no other Sarson's in the household to 'ditto' from it's definitely a long-shot.

Added: Forget that - I've found Sarah Sarson in 1851 in Upper Conduit Street.
