I am new to the 'find your past' site and I went on the census and just typed in Mill Street Llanelly and it came up with Mill St on 4 pages, but no house numbers were given. Looking through them I couldn't find him anyway. Hence my post. I shall do it with Carmarthen now.

Hi yes I did check this out and it was the right one. But the marriage was not right as I sent for a marriage certificate with those details and they never sent it just refunded my money. Where did you get that from as I need to check it so I can send it off again. Thanks for your help.

OK So firstly did you locate Evan with any members of this family in 1911?
What details did you give to order the marriage, the above details I have just checked on Freebmd and they are correct with the proviso a John Williams married an Elizabeth Evans?

I knew Elizabeth was his mum but wasn't aware she married the same year to another guy. His father was not named on birth certificate but on his marriage certificate his father was named as Llewellyn Evans deceased, a merchant seaman. I checked FreeBMD and found the same ref number for John and Elizabeth so applied for a certificate. Why they didn't send it I have no idea.

Hi again Chris, you did say the money for the certificate was refunded was any reason given for the refund?

Also in the 1901 census above with Elizabeth Williams is a 12 year old Daniel Williams b Llanelly, looks very much like the Daniel Evans aged 10 months b Llanelly with David/Esther and family including Elizabeth in 1891 census?
Census ref RG12/4493/136/38

Birth Daniel Evans June qtr 1890 Llanelly 11a 923 No mothers maiden name shown.

Hi, Daniel Evans was her brother I think as Evan was her first born as far as I am aware. I don't know about Daniel Williams. And no, no reason was given. I'm going to try again with that one but I may ring them first. Will let you know.

Hello again,

It may be that Daniel was also her child. You could check 1921 census for the number of children born to Elizabeth and match the children up.

Sorry I meant 1911  ::)
