shop in Folkestone

Hi, can anyone tell me what type of shop was at 14 Alder road Folkestone in 1939,Rupert Lye was the shopkeeper,

You can look at Alder Road on Google StreetView. It's a residential  street of largely 1930s houses. I think the address may just be his home.

Yes Alder Road was the upmarket end of Folkestone, in the 1930's newly built Semi-detatched 3 bedroom mostly and at the end of the road, was Folkestone Golf Club

 
This is the house today, in the 30's the rear of the house, would have looked out onto farmland.
Dow/Dowe Norfolk and Suffolk
Mulley/Wilden Suffolk
Loome/lombe Norfolk

Don't know if you have this information but Rupert shows up in The UK Electrical Engineers lists from 1921 to 1927 listed address is 15 Guildhall street Folkestone

Hi, i was looking into my granny’s family tree and came up with this post. Rupert Lye is/was my Granny’s uncle!!  :o When i told her about this post she was intrigued why and who was looking into his family life.

I know this is probably a long shot as it was over a year ago this post was written but could someone shed a light on this for us
