for the 1870s what his children where called and what his profession was.
on my Grandmothers marrage in 1917 in Belfast he was down as a Tailor.
My Grandmothers name was Mary Campbell (Mcintyre)

Hi there

In order to make sure that you are on the right track....

Where and when was your grandmother born? With a Belfast marriage for your grandmother Mary, how did you work your way back to Scotland and Argyll? Have you found Mary in the 1901/11 censuses to confirm her birth place?

The Robert McIntyre who married Margaret Shaw, he is showing as a game keeper in the 1881 census:

Robert Macintyre 38 game keeper b. Kilmartin G, Argyllshire
Maggie Macintyre 34
Archibald Macintyre 9 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYBJ-793
Mary A Macintyre 7 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XY5Y-H9W
Hector D Macintyre 3
Robert Macintyre 2 Months https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XT6G-8LW
Flora Campbell 14

Address: Tangy Lodge, Killean and Kilchenzie, Argyll

To everyone on Rootschat
I am sorry for my Father having so many posts on the same subject but he is forgetful
how and again. He has his Mothers Family traced back to 1810 thanks to wiki tree.
However his Fathers side has drawn a blank, all he knows
His Grandfather was called Thomas Campbell born in the 1870s married Mary McIntyre in
1917 at ST Annes Belfast they had 3 children Josephine David and his Father Hugh.
Marys Father was Robert Bennett McIntyre
Thomas,s Father was Joseph Campbell. He has searched the Irish census for the McIntyres but no luck
so he thought he would try Scotland for them. On there wedding cert in 1917 Robert was still alive
and he was a Tailor. It took my Father over 30 years  to find Mary Campbells(McIntyre) grave and
only received a photo of her last month from family in Austrailia. He just cant understand how his
search has hit a brick wall. Is it possible to put his threads altogether and start again and I will
try and keep in on the right track.
Once again Sorry

Gosh, no need to apologise  :) I just hope someone find a new piece of info for him. He looks to have been searching long and hard doesn't he. It can be hard.
