Weatherhead family in Tynemouth

I am looking for any info you have about James Weatherhead born approx 1822 and married Barbara Russell in 1844 in tynemouth, as well as any info on Jame's father-Joseph Weatherhead, born in berwick upon tweed, they were both mariners (james and Joseph)

were married by banns
on the 14th May 1844
by James Burrow ,curate
witnessed by Hindmarch Johnson and Maria Carolin names a little blurred so I may have got them wrong
Gunning County Down,Kneale Isle of Man,Riddle Tynemouth,Bibby Kendal/Bradford,Colenso Penzance/Barrow-in-Furness,Steele Corney Fell,Chapman Ely,Dawes Alfreton,Blamire Westmoreland and Ulverston

Thank you so much for the info! I figured out that Hindermarch Johnson was a brother in law to James Weatherhead so I'm on the right track  :) Do any of you know the easiest way to get a marriage certificate from England, I'm in Canada...

You can order the marriage certificate on line
from the GRO  General Register office £9.25 not sure about the postage

There is a Merchant Seaman record for a James Weatherhead, born Berwick 5th Jun 1821
BT113 Piece 41 (transcription and image available via Find My Past)

Ticket no 80,187 first went to sea as an apprentice 22nd May 1837
In 1844 (the date of the record) it stated he lived at North Shields when unemployed and the ticket was issued at Newcastle. He was 5ft 7ins, had black hair, fair complexion and gray eyes - no distinguishing marks.
Its a good 'possible' for your man.

Sadly the Masters/ Mates certs for the numerical series this one falls into have not survived and are not in the database on ancestry (I enquired with the National Maritime Museum about them a long time ago as I was searching for one in that series).
