Benjamin Bevan C1798
« on: Monday 09 January 17 10:47 GMT (UK) »
Good morning All.  :)

I have a Benjamin Bevan Born C1798 at Ashford married somewhere around or before 1832 a Dinah born C1798 Bitterley .I would like to find his and her parents and even a marriage.

In 1841 they are living at Wednesbury with their son Edwin born C1832 Wolverhampton.

In 1851 they are living at Shiffnal with Edwin. In 1855 when Edwin married he used the name Bevan Boddis(where that came from I don't know).

In 1861 Benjamin and Dinah are living at Denbighshire Wales.

Benjamin died between 1861 and 1866 somewhere in Wales I presume.

In 1871 Dinah a widow was living at St Asaph, Wales.

Dinah died 1877 in Asaph, Wales.

Thank you Rosie That looks like him.

I never realised there was a Wales page until now.Thought that might be a good idea to find the burial.

That's interesting. I only have the marriage from FreeBMD.Edwin's daughter who married my Great Granddad uses it as well on their marriage but spells it Bodice. Maybe Dinah was Boddis/Bodice I have tried to search on Family Search but no joy.

One to keep on file

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NKCD-XYK

Marriage is on FindMyPast, with her name as Clay. They are both of the parish Shiffnal. One witness is Richd Clee.

Edit have also found her as Clee, the banns had him living Wrockwardine and her living Shifnal

FS and freereg has a few 'Clee' bapt Bitterley.

Thanks Cas.

So the Boddis/Bodice name could be from Benjamin's mum.Its certainly not from Dinah.
