Searching for relatives of William Price DOB 18.2.1878
« on: Wednesday 11 January 17 08:15 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for relatives of my grandfather William Price DOB 18.2.1878 born in Magheragall Anterim Northern Ireland.  He went to South Africa and died in 1928.  His parents were Thomas Price and Catherine Campbell.  I am planning a trip to Ireland some time this year and would like to meet some of my mother's relatives.

Hopefully a moderator will pop along soon and move your thread to the Antrim board. Folks there will try and help. Meantime, have you already found him in 1901/1911 census (assuming, that is, he hadn't left Ireland by that time - perhaps he had, I am only seeing a John Price in Magheragall at 1901)? When did he head to SA?

Familysearch suggests he potentially had at least the following brother:

Joseph  31/8/1879

Probable marriage for Thomas and Catherine in 1871. This should be available to view online, for a small charge, via GRONI.

Re Thomas and Catherine, albeit not in Magheragall, the following might be worth considering, even if only to eliminate:

1901              http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Ballygomartin/Ballydownfine/988856/

1911

At 1911, this couple are noted as having had 10 children (9 living), so obviously by 1901, some of the older ones are elsewhere.

Birth certificate for William Price shows that his father Thomas was a bricklayer-

Makes the census entries seem even stronger possibility to be same family then, given occupations of that Thomas and son Samuel.

George and Sarah Jefferson look to have been in Stoke on Trent in 1911, with one daughter, Kathleen. His occupation is noted as 'Medical man'.
