I'm unable to find a Baptism for Evan Rees. If the family followed the 'Welsh Namimg Pattern', - then I would expect Evan's Father to be a William Rees.

Cheers, Romilly.

Yes Keyboard, - that is correct. My Link is through his first Marriage. He married Anne Williams, born 1812 @ Llangyfelach Parish Church on the 11th April 1830. Anne died on the 11th April 1853. He then remarried, to Mary Lloyd.

As the Marriages are in the Parish Church, I thought the Baptism might be too, - but I can't see one:-(

That's probably unlikely then... (I wasn't sure where it was).

He says on most of the Censuses that he was Born Llangyfelach/Morriston.

His son, (also Evan Rees, my GreatGrandfather, 1836 - 1927) was Baptised in the Wesleyan Tabernacle Chapel in Tontine Street Swansea in December 1836, - and so it's quite likely that his father was also a Chapel Baptism, - but I can't see one for him...

It's very puzzling:-(

I think that this one is a definate possibility, - (mainly due to the Parent's names. Evan Rees's son George named one of his daughter's Lena).

I think that 'Pyle and Kenfig' was a Chapel? Does anyone know?
