from the census you mention there's a Samuel age 3 - this looks to be
his birth registration from GRO

Interesting read as this is my family! Jonathan is my great great uncle. Brother to Elias Ibbotson, my great, great grandfather.

In my research I have also concluded that their parents were indeed Henry and Rachel. I have yet to officially confirm by purchasing certificates that Rachel/ Rachael/ Rachiel's maiden name was Middleton but everything leans towards that marriage record being theirs.

I can also say that the entry "Woodseats" is incorrect on one of the census records and it should have been Woodsetts (which neighbours Anston, the town I grew up in). Woodseats is in Sheffield.

You will also find Mallinder and Mallender for the same family grouping. They weren't so big on the correct spelling back then!!

So, the question remains.......are we related?
