My digging around with William Butler came up with a marriage at Windsor in 1855  to a Charlotte Willmott, but obviously the wrong William Butler. Hey ho!! Seem to have the right one now thanks to all your hard work. Thanks.

Hookleg - if you want to obtain the marriage certificate of Emily Eliza Butler to confirm her father's name you can order certificates from GRO www.gro.gov.uk

This is the reference from FreeBMD

BUTLER    Emily Eliza
POTTER    Henry Nathan

and reply 1 gives the reference number for her birth entry

Well done Maureen - I'd only seen the transcription  :)

I think this is one of those convoluted ones. :)

William BUTLER possibly married Emily Wetherall as per the 1871 census.

It looks to me as though Emily was born before her parents marriage:
Jane Wetherall
possible spouse:
Thomas Illsley 1841 Cookham.

Did Emily WETHERALL born c 1838 use the surname ILLSLEY after her mother's
Jane Wetherall married Thomas Illsley in Sep 1841 Cookham

I think this is the same couple bit difficult to decipher surname Illsey/Tilley  ???

Birth place note Res: Money Low Green

This should read Money Row Green which matches the address on the 1851 census.  This is in the southern part of the parish near Holyport.
