Richard Jeffree/Jeffrey died 1875
« on: Friday 13 January 17 22:01 GMT (UK) »
Not having very much luck with the Jeffree side of the family I decided to renew my search.
I have just found that Richard Jeffree born 1853 in Camborne,Cornwall apparently died in South Africa. The tree is on Ancestry and I am not a subscriber.
Richard's parents were Josiah/Isaiah and Hannah Floyd.
There is also Isiah born 1843,John born 1850 and Thomas in 1865. All in Cornwall.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks for that Millepede.
Where did you find the information about Thomas and what was the spelling for the surname?
Does it  mention his parents?
I have found different spellings and that makes things difficult.
Added:
I have found a marriage for a Thomas Jeffree to Sarah Ann Gould  in South Australia, but he isn't the correct person because his birth was 1850.
My Thomas was born in 1865 and in 1871 he was 6 years old, living with his parents and brothers.

It was a tree on ancestry.  Spelling Jeffree.

It has death unknown for Richard, nothing about South Africa.

It has parents Josiah 1817 Anne 1813 and the following children

Josiah 1844
William 1846
Thomas 1847
John 1850
Richard 1853
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire

Pick - Frocester Glos

I wonder if Thomas age 6 in 1871 is the correct age because mother is down as 59 in 1871.

Have you found a birth for him in 1865?  I can see there is a Joseph Thomas born 1865 but his mothers surname was Thomas so not him.

Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

I have just found this:
http://www.genealogy.com/ftm/j/e/f/Dianne-Jeffree-South-Australia/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0191.html
I am sure that this person has the incorrect parents fo Hannah Floyd.
Hannah's first husband was Charles Carter and they had a daughter name Hannah bapt 1837 and she is my branch. Hannah senior parents were Thomas Floyd and Sarah Thomas,
The online tree has Hannah senior father as James.
The online tree has the  names of Hannah senior children by her 2nd marriage which was to Isiah/Josiah Jeffree. She also has 2 Jeffrees living ain South Australia and Richard in South Africa Nama Gualand but she doesn't know what happened to William born 1845.
I can't find a birth of Thomas 1865 so I wonder if this was a mistake on the part of the enumenator.

Thank you for that.
I have looked at it and the age is just a few years out.
The handwritten part is difficult to understand so I don't know who received his money and that will help. His father died in the 1880's.
I put the type written parts of the document in a translator and that helped.
It still doesn't tie in with the above link that has his death as 1875.
