LOUISA VINER nee BARNES
« on: Saturday 14 January 17 06:01 GMT (UK) »
My 3x g-gmother was born in 1815 in Gloucestershire. England. She married a James Viner
The last mention of her in the UK was in 1881 census , when she was living with her daughter Rosinia Port. Rosinia went to New York to live in the mid 1880's & I can't find any mention of Louisa after that , I wonder if she went to live in NY as well on Staten Island .????
TIA AG :D

Have you found Rosina on the passenger list to New York - who travelled ? Rosina is living with her married daughter and widowed on the 1900 Census. Immigrated 1887. (passed away 10 September 1927 Richmond New York) There was a death of a Ned Port born England and aged 41 years - St Kitts to Chicago via New York 17 April 1885.

The poster has been a member since 2008 and should have known to link previous posts so as not to waste peoples time duplicating what has already been found.  ::)

Thank you everyone, for your information. No, I wasn't aware that any previous threads had to be mentioned again, seeing it was in another country. I didn't think it had any bearing on what I was asking to find. ( a death entry in New York !!!!)

Think you asked if Louisa Viner nee Barnes went to live in Staten Island - not specifically was there a death record - there is no BMD index in the USA, what is available varies State to State, County to County.  Unfortunately there is no available census between 1880 and 1900 but Louisa was found on a City Directory entry in 1886. Sometimes we need a little background information to help the searches and you already had some of that information on the thread Shelly linked in.
