BBC iPlayer not working on tablet
« on: Sunday 15 January 17 09:35 GMT (UK) »
I have a Google Nexus 7.1 & I have BBC iPlayer, BBC Media player & BBC iPlayer for Kids installed. Now they all seem to have stopped working, I just get a message saying 'content not available'.

I've uninstalled then re-installed but still the same problem. As far as I'm aware my Android system is up-to-date.

I've used up all my techie expertise now so any suggestions would be very welcome!

Do you have 'pop ups' turned off/disabled on your tablet? I-player now requires you to acknowledge whether or not you have a valid TV licence, and does this by means of a 'pop up' box with the two choices.

Might not be this causing your problem, but worth checking.

Thank you Scotsmum, I did see those boxes & clicked the right one. (Assuming our TV licence is valid! - only joking)

Thank you anyway

You could try asking via 'live chat' or the 'contact iPlayer help' form at:

Also, is your Flash Player up to date on the tablet?

Weirdly I just tried it & everything is working again. I've had visitors today so have hardly used the tablet till just now when I checked the BBC news website & found I could view video.

I'm not aware I did anything different but your advice about the iPlayer help is very useful, Scotsmum, I didn't know about that. I might just contact them in the morning to see if they can explain it.

Thank you very much, Scotsmum, much appreciated.
