Hello everyone from a sunny hot day in NZ..IM looking for origins of Georgina FORTUNE b C1844 Glasgow m George MOTION in Glasgow in 1866..This couple ended up in Canada..I havent had any luck finding her parents etc ..Hope you can help thanks Julie-Ann

Downloading a copy of the 1866 marriage cert from Scotlands People will give her parents names and mothers maiden name

There is an 1851 entry for a Georgena Fortune b 1843 Edinburgh - father shown as John.  Family are living in Fife

The family are mistranscribed in 1841 but here are the 1841 details for Fife - all children surname Fortune and everybody born Fife

The older childrens baptisms - but not Georgina's - are on Family Search and confirm mother as Margaret Gray

Family Search shows John Fortune & Margaret Gray married 30.5.1818 at St Andrew & St Leonards Fife

A tree on FS shows his parents as George Fortune 1750 - 1824 and Margaret Armite 1755-1843

Margaret Gray died 1849 as per the tree and John Fortune 5.4.1878
