1792 - John ROBERT.... Fool of the wood!
« on: Tuesday 17 January 17 00:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi team.

I've just viewed the baptism of David ROBERT 7th April 1792.  His parents are noted as John ROBERT, fool of the wood & Janet CULLINS.

Any suggestion on how / where I could take this?!

The baptism was at Falkirk and David was the eldest child of John and Janet that I have found.  The baptisms of the other children are transcripts so I cant see the original wording. I cant find a marriage.... although a John ROBERTSON and Janet CULLINS married at Falkirk in 1784.  John being of Cumbernauld.

Have you found John ROBERTSON and Janet on the 1841.

With Janet's surname (quite unusual) esp. in it's spelling, this looks good for the 1784 marriage.

Do any others on the page state the same 'fool of the wood'?

Might be worth posting a clip of the entry for us to see, just in case it is being misinterpreted.

I would post it but I have no idea how!!! Soz about that.  I'm working on it now...

Annie, CULLINS is also seen as CULLENS and CULLEN so I'm not sure about the ROBERTSON / CULLINS marriage.

team...

David ROBERT's baptism squashed up at the bottom.  It's a bit difficult to make out what belong to who.  I think the Burgher reference belongs to the following entry!

I think this is supposed to the another child but it doesn't really say anything except John ROBERT, fool of the ____ . ?!?!?!?!?!  Its 1797, five years after the previous baptism.

Appreciate your input.
