I am now satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that my Fred was not on board but, if he was, he would have been amongst the anonymous group of steerage passengers.
Purely as an academic exercise I have had a quick attempt to match the names of the passengers listed in the paper as proceeding on to Sydney with those recorded as having arrived, but without success. Strange but of no relevance to my research.
