Armagh Laundry workers register?
« on: Wednesday 18 January 17 11:46 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I was wondering if i could get any information re Kathleen Corrigan who was born 1916. She worked in Armagh laundry from a young age. Any information appreciated.

If such records survive in PRONI then it's unlikely such recent records are online or easily available but you can search their e-catalogue to see if records might exist.

Was the name of the p-lace 'Armagh Laundry' or was this a location in somewhere like Armagh Workhouse?

Article about N.I. laundries here might be of interest although nothing listed in Armagh (city)-

Aghadowey,
Im told the laundry was just known as Armagh Laundry. It was located outside the city on the old Moy Rd and was beside The Callan river. I dont think it had any connection with Magdalene laundries.

Think it might be this one according to your description?

1918 directory- http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/PT19181.htm#Armagh
Marshall, T. W., Tullyelmer Lodge, Tullyelmer
Marshall, T. W., & C., City Steam Laundry

Location of Tullyelmer-

"first bridge on the Moy road from Armagh. Beside the Callan river and close to the site of Armagh Steam Laundry which employed many local women."
