Felix Fagan/Fegan and family
« on: Friday 20 January 17 12:58 GMT (UK) »
I have Felix Fagan 1831 wife Ellen (nee Hughes)1842 daughter Mary ann 1863 all born Ireland on the 1871 census for England son John born 1866 Thornaby South Stockton, have them on all census going forward. Felix dies 1898. On 1911 census Ellen Fagan states born Tyrone Clanfagh resident, daughter Mary Ann states Armagh resident. I know it's not much to go on but could anyone advise where to look for Mary Ann's birth or Felix And Ellen's marriage, they are a RC family.
Thanks Sheila

Can't find "Clanfagh" or "Clanfagel." Wonder if it should be Clonfeacle. Co. Tyrone?

The Catholic Parish records are online & start 1814 which is hopeful  :)

Clonfeacle straddles the border between Tyrone and Armagh, so it would depend on which side of the river they were living on as to what county they would have been born in.

That said, there are few Fagans in the area in Griffiths which was taken late in Armagh (around 1864).    There is only a Mary in Turleenan, Clonfeacle noted in Griffiths.

It's possible that Ellen Hughes was from Clonfeacle, Co. Tyrone but her daughter Mary Ann was born in Co. Armagh.

Found the baptism for Mary Ann (Maria Anne), of Felix Fehan and Ellenora Hughes in the Moy (Clonfeacle) baptisms on March 22, 1863; sponsors were Bernard Hughes & Anna Donnelly.

In the same parish records, the marriage of Felix Fehan and Ellenora Hughes on April 12, 1862; witnesses were Patricius Farrell and Franciscus Cullen.  These records were all in Latin.
