You can order certificates on-line from www.gro.gov.uk - the best place, as the charge is £9.25 including postage.  Other providers may charge more.

Use:

Ernest Edwin Robertson - W Bromwich (Registration district) 6b (Volume) and 557 (page number)

Well that document at least explains where some of Roberts/FFrances Children got there double-barreled names from ;D

Yes its very complicated. Best thing to do is make a graph and try and link the info up.

The birth certificate for Ernest Edwin Robertson arrive and it's not what i thought!

3rd Feb 1854
(Heath Terrace)

ERNEST EDWIN boy

No name or surname of father

Mother = Charlotte Robertson

Informant was Charlotte Robertson, mother, Heath terrace, West Bromwich on 13th February 1854

Any ideas????

Thank you for the update, pity it thrown your line into question, however it's always best to check the facts.  :)

Did Edwin have a sister or relation called Charlotte?

Just wondering if Edwin and Eliza 'adopted' Ernest Edwin and by therefore keeping him in the family, especially as it would appear that Edwin and Eliza have no other children.
