Is there an online electoral roll for Dublin c.1929 available?
« on: Saturday 21 January 17 11:56 GMT (UK) »
I've tried search engines, but can't come up with anything. Trying to find the Christian names of the Doherty family resident in 1929/30 at 32 Glengarrife Parade, off the North Circular Road in Dublin. We know they're family, but can't establish the actual relationship. (Could be the key to solving my GGF's maternal line). Unfortunately, my Uncle's address book only has the Christian name of the daughter, Eilish, who was about 17 in 1929 and 'Eilish' was either her middle name, or her birth was registered under an Anglicised version of it- of which there may be several.

Thanks, I was afraid that was the case. Who knows, someone may read this and recognise the family- a slim chance, but worth taking.

If the family were at that address for a while there may be other ways to find them.
Do you know if Eilish got married?

Sadly, no. Everyone of the family who may have known are long gone. They weren't there in 1911 and as we don't know Eilish's proper name, can't find out by other means.

Thanks- that narrows it down. Wasn't sure if it was that, or Eileen or Eliza or even Isabel.

Number 32 Glengariffe Parade isn't even listed in the Electoral roll for 1915, it goes from 31 to 33. So either empty or no one qualified to vote.

Oh hang on 1914 has two sides to the street, 32 is on that, they aren't there though so doesn't look like Eilish was born at that address.

Thanks. I'll probably take a gamble and order the marriage certificate for the Elizabeth who married in North Dublin in 1931.
