Personally, no, but I recall a Northwest News item on TV about 10 or more years ago reporting six generations (all female I think), so it does happen.

I wasn't sure if my friend had, but they missed out on 6 generations by 5 months - have been 5 generations 3 times that she's been part of though

I believe the record is seven generations alive at one time. Which is amazing, as quite a few of my 4x great grandparents were born in the 1700s.

I believe the record is seven generations alive at one time.

Purely mathematically, that would require six successive females to get pregnant on their 16th birthday (with daughters of course), plus six times 9 months wait, for the oldest generation to see the youngest when aged 100.  Quite a tall order, and not really to be attempted IMHO.

My mum is the start of 4 and the eldest Ggranddaughter is 20. If she has a child soon my mum would have to get close to 100 just for 6 generations.

;D ;D too late for me to attempt it now

Does it have to be all females? A son could have a child at 16 - 17 as well.

I'm not quite sure I believe that they are the first to ever reach six generations as I'm pretty sure I saw an obituary, of a gypsy I think, that had children up to (multiple) great great great grandchildren.
However, six is pretty impressive. My great Nan would have been part of a six generation line all alive if she lived another year.

Seems this is the case, as others have said. Your Nan may be the nearest a rootschat family have come....
