Also to note a Richard Trapnell married a Grace Mullens 12/4/1773 Broomfield - said Grace, wife of Richard buried 29/5/1776 Broomfield - perhaps a case of 2 brothers marrying 2 sisters?

Ive just spoken to Brian Austin the Weston historian who I recommended that you get in touch with by letter & he has told me that he has the information you require & can take you 2 generations further back & if I know Brian he will give you a lot more info than that.

Will do Trish, I will send a letter a S.A.E. hopefully for a reply.
If I know have it right, I think Josephs parents are John and Catherine (Taylor).  Johns parents Robert and Joan Biffen and Roberts father William.
If Martha (Mary) Mullens is correct I have 3 generations back. 
I will keep you posted.
