Prison records - What exists?
« on: Tuesday 24 January 17 21:37 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if any knows what is available for Bristol? one of my ancestors, Frances Condon, had numerous scrapes with the law and was quite notorious. The newspapers have been great, but I'd be interested to know if a criminal record or prison record existed.
Dallimore - Bristol, Somerset and South Wales
Yandell - Bristol
Roberts - Bristol
Condon - Bristol and County Cork
Smith - Ramsbury, Wiltshire and Leeds.
Moger - Bristol, Bath and Somerset
Cain - Leeds and County Cork

Ancestry has the following :-
Gloucestershire, England, Prison Records, 1728-1914

What newpapers did you trace your ancestor in? And where?
