Thanks for the replies to date.

I have a lot of information you have already posted.

Care has to be taken about Patrick Hendrick as there are about 4 of them in that area & at least 2 have married different Catherine's and had children with the same first name in the same year.

I am looking for information prior to his 1964 marriage.

His first wife Catherine died in 1889 in Lismore, Ireland;he remarried in about 1895 to Alice then he died in about 1910.  I have managed to contact one of the decendants of Alice & Patrick's children but no further information has been forthcoming about his origins.

I really have no idea where he lived prior to either of his marriages (I don't recall saying Wexford anywhere).  One of his children lived in the Wexford area under their married name.

Is there anyone that has any further information on how either clockmakers or jeweller's got their trade in those days?

The 1901 census (link given in reply #2 by Sinann) states Patrick was born in Wexford
His age was given as 55 which implies he was born c1846

I posted links to the civil records for his first & second marraiges and death.
At his death in 1910 he was described as aged 62 which implies he was born c1848

The discrepancy is not unusual at that time.

Sinann also posted a link to an interesting piece about clockmaking/clockmakers in ireland in reply #4

This post on another forum has reference to books that list Irish Clock and Watch Makers which maybe of use; bearing in mind the Patrick Hendrick may have worked for someone rather than make things under his own name

The eleven children that I found from 1867 up to 1885
have the parents Patrick HENDRICK and Catherine MOLONY or variants of these names

I think you may have to wait until more Civil Cert images come online, to see where his father died and what address is on his first marriage.
In the mean time I was trying to see if there was an area in Wexford where a Mill Wright might be more likely to be found.
There are only two in Wexford in 1901 living in the same place near the large looking mill of Kilcarbry just outside Enniscorthy.

Map dates are 1897 to 1913 so it may have closed down after the census.
An area worth keeping in mind.

There is another family of Hendrick's that come out of Wexford who have an extensive family tree but I have yet to make a definate connection on it.

To be honest I hadn't noticed that he had stated he was born in Wexford on the 1901 census.  This is new.

I'm still searching for this man.  I am also unable to find which graveyard he was buried in in 1910 in Waterford.  What I find suspicious is that there is another Patrick Hendrick who died in 1910 between the same months Oct - Dec not that far away.

I have been told he may have a middle name of Henry.

Otherwise no luck yet.
