The Edward McGrath mentioned in Reply 2 a Soldier the following could be details of same person in 1881 Chatham Kent. Head Edward McGrath Doctors Servant Late Army, born Ireland
Wife Ann b. Ireland Son Robert a 15 b Japan, Son Edward a 2 b. India.

1891 Chatham Kent. Head Edward McGrath b 1843 Wexford Ireland, Wife Ann b Limerick Ireland
Son Edward a 12 b. Rawalpindine India.

There is a death 10th Dec 1914 of a Edward McGrath Lance Sgt Norfolk Regiment Army reg no 5640
Death place Meyeera. There were Gratuties paid 2/10/1916 & 6/9/1919 to a Margaret Walmsley

I believe this Edward is the same one shown on 1881 & 1891 Censuses whether he is the one you are looking for I cannot be sure.  You could obtain the service record from the UK Government Archives site.

Thank you...this gives me something to look into... We thought he was still alive in 1939 as we understood he had arranged the wedding of Margaret and William Julian 15th July 1939 ....reason ..Margaret had no birth certificate ...so how did he arrange it...?
Did he just pay the vicar or priest ? We don't know

If you do not have the marriage certificate, it would be best to purchase it to see what information is on there.
