Can Someone help decipher this name please?
« on: Wednesday 25 January 17 19:29 GMT (UK) »
This is an image from the 1881 census.
All the children are correct but Henry warwicks wifes name says mary, when it should be emily.
Can someone look at this image and see what they think?

There is a daughter emily but the writing for the wife doesn't look the same.

My henry and emily continued having children after this census, so i don't know what this mary would be doing there.

Seems no doubt it says Mary.

Was Emily the mother of all these children, or could MAry have been, then she died, and he remarried to Emily before next census?

Or maybe enumerator just made an error when writing up schedule and wrote Mary instead of Emily.

Quite possible i.e. all ages for each (including parents) & where born would help to locate them &/or a 2nd marriage.

If the couple are to be found in 1911 this will tell you the amount of years married & how many children they had as well as how many still living.
