Such a fascinating programme, and Ian is one of the few celebrities I feel have been really interested in what has been found.  As has been said, what a pity he has no family member to share the findings with, but what ancestors he has !!   Great reformers, and acting in his genes.

And for anyone who hasn't visited it, go to the main Manchester library he went to .... wonderful, well displayed archives, and very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Isn't it funny that several people have commented on his hat- I was fascinated by it too. I've just watched it on iplayer tonight and thought it was lovely. I agree it would have been nicer if the newspaper cuttings had been held still for us all to read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
