peebles poorhouse

Does anyone know where to find out if there are any records which would show details of inmates of Peebles poorhouse, around the time of 1899 - 1910? I'm trying to find out why one of my ancestors had to enter the poorhouse. Also, where would an inmate be buried when they died?

Have a look at www.workhouses.org.uk.

The relevant entry for Peebles is:
http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Peebles/

It says any records will be at Scottish Borders Archive and Local History Centre.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Most probably Peebles St Andrews Cemetery, grave records will be with scottish borders council. Only a few families were allowed to be buried at the Cross Kirk by then, and they had money.

Heres a photo of it
