Who were his parents ?
« on: Thursday 26 January 17 22:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi all, i'm trying to find the parents of George J Parr born 1926 in Nottingham, it says MMN White, but looking through the IGI i'm a little stuck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Jason

There are also five potential brothers 1931-1936?

Hi, i did see this one, but with George's birth being in June, would it be too close with the marriage also in June ? it would mean that Barbara would be almost giving birth as she was getting married, and George was born 1st June, i would imagine it would have been frowned upon ?

Check the 1939 Register on Findmypast, the index shows a household of Walter Parr born 1899 and Barbara C Parr born 1903 + 2 others

At least they appear to have got married before the birth, just. ;)

It's the June QUARTER Jason. They could have married in April or May. Still close but they made it!

George's birth in 1926 gives the mother 's surname as White. There are 2 marriages in Nottinghamshire in the 1920s with father Parr and mother White.
The first is in Dec Qtr 1922 in Basford;- John W Parr and Emily White and the second as previously noted in 1926 in Nottingham : Walter Parr and Barbara C White!!!!!
If the first marriage is George's parents  it would "legitimise" him!!!!
There are some 13 births with parents Parr and White in Nottinghamshire between 1920 and 1936 some in Nottingham and some in Basford and they overlap!!! Do you know any of George's siblings???
