War census
« on: Friday 27 January 17 12:50 GMT (UK) »
I have been told that there was a war census taken at the start of the war years, presumably in 1941, which was used by the government to help with their knowledge to be used for conscription, rationing, ID cards etc.
I would very much like to learn of the details for Harry Rudge, born 1918, who was born & lived in Birmingham. I would also like to learn of the details for his mother, Eliza Rudge, who was born about 1782-1875 who also lived in Birmingham.
Can anyone help me please as I do not know where this war census may be accessed.
Thank you.

I think you may be referring to the 1939 Register available on FindMyPast.  Sorry, but we are not allowed to carry out look-up requests.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Many thanks for that info  ~  I thought that it was a 1941 census. Thank you for informing me of the correct name & where I can research it.

The index is free to search - but you have to pay for details.

There is a Harry Rudge, born 1918, living in Birmingham County Borough.
There is an Eliza Rudge also on the record.
