Annie Eliza Wright nee Tissington. (27 Feb 1879) Albert William Wright 1880

Good morning.
Could someone help me find the burials of these people please.?
Annie was born 27th Feb 1879 Islington Barnaby.
Albert was born 1880 Cambridge.
He signed up 14 Feb 1916 and de-mobbed 1920.Address on his service records was 54,Hillmartone Rd West Holloway N7.
Annie is also alive 1916 as she is on his attestation. They married 23rd July 1908  St Thomas Church Islington London.

They are both on the 1939 register, his dob given as 1879, hers given as 1880.  Their names are shown as Albert W and Annie Eliza . I guess these are the correct couple (I have ancestors for whom I've got birth certificates who changed the year of their birth on the 1939 census for some unknown reason - maybe they didn't know the actual year they were born). 

They were living in Islington.

So at least you know that it was after 1939 they died which might help you to find their deaths, possibly in Islington.

Hi Maggie - The 1939 register is on Findmypast.  If you haven't or don't want to buy a subscription, you can always get a monthly sub - I think - however if you google Findmypast you'll find there's a 14 day free trial at the moment.  Of course, you need to remember to cancel afterwards if you don't want to subscribe.

It gives their address and full dates of birth and occupations.

Found Albert,he died 1944 but no sign of Annie.

I can see your problem with deaths of Annie, there are so many of them.  It's one of the reasons I can't find my g.grandfather's birth and early life - he too was a Wright from London, Bethnal Green in his case.

What you could do is buy Albert's death certificate to see who the informant was, or to see if it says "widower of" or "husband of", that way you'll know whether Annie died first or not.

The other, not that uncommon, is that Annie re-married after Albert's death.  She may have been in her late 60s but that's not a deterrent.  Of course, she could have moved away from Islington, but as she was born there that doesn't really seem an option, unless they had any children she might have gone to live with.

She seems to be with her brother Robert Stanley TISSINGTON at the Hillmarton address right up until 1957ish. He died in Chichester as did another sibling (Kate?). Just kind of wondering about the death for Annie WRIGHT-June 1970 Chichester.

Thank you,Maureen. If Robert died in Chichester and Kate died there too,maybe the death for Annie is correct. I could always send for Roberts death cert. and see who reported it.
