Farrell Moygrehan
« on: Tuesday 31 January 17 12:48 GMT (UK) »
I would like to find some info on Jack and Lizzy Farrell from Moygrehan.   I think they went to live in England maybe in the late sixties.   Who was Lizzy before she married and where did she come from. Was she a local girl.  Any info welcome.
Thanks.

Any idea when they were born or married? (please don't post any details if they might still be alive) Jack and Lizzie are likely nicknames and their first or middle names may have been John and Elizabeth.

There's a John Farrell with family in Moygrehan Lower in 1911 but he was 35 years old at the time-

Another John Farrell in the same townland age 44-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Both people are long dead. They were probably born somewhere between 1910-1920. Jack probably was John as I think his father was John.  Jack had one brother and three or four sisters.
I would like to know who Lizzy was before marriage and where she came from etc.
Thanks

Probably the best way to search is to track down their marriage
This will give their father's names and more to go on

Also if you are sure of Jack's sibling's names this will pin point him better
if they were older you could find them on the 1911 census perhaps

There were 11 people living in Moygrehan in 1911 LINK

Moygrehan is very close to the Co. Meath border and the family may straddle between the two especially if parish boundaries did.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

If the John FARRELL who died in 1952 is the correct man thelink
I think he was the son of Patt FARRELL and Ellen GREY
As the informant was Anna FARRELL his daughter she presumably was at least 18
therefore a DoB about 1934 or before

Possibilities LINK

These do not show a mother's maiden name but the actual index books would to help locate a marriage
