Henry Marsdon BELL 6th son of Robert BELL Barber  bn Dec24th 1797  chr Jan 11th by his wife Mary BELL dau of Henry BELL of Manchester.

The milldle name and father's occupation are too much of a coincidence :)

Robert BELL Died 1801 Darlington aged 63. There does not seem to be a will.

Excellent.  A real possibility.
Checking all the scenarios now.
Thank you.

I have found two more children to Robert and Mary.  A William born 1796 and Sarah 1795.

Also Robert possibly had two brother which I have noted; a Cuthbert Bell and a Thomas Bell both of Darlington.

I have not yet been able to find the marriage of Robert Bell and Mary.  I have printed out the death notice for Robert of 1801 which would indicate he was born approx. 1738.

Have managed to find some Wills which is amazing.  However, still looking for the Robert Miller will of 1826. He died in 1829.

Could take some time.

Robert Miller who died in 1829 was the Rev. Robert Miller.  I have checked his marriage details and children and this is not my ancestor.

Thank you everyone who has helped thus far.

Robert Bell died in 1801 in Darlington aged 63 yrs.
His wife Mary had several young children.  This was Robert's second marriage. We think his first wife died and he married again to Mary Bell (that was her maiden name and was from Manchester).

Mary as a widow in 1801 had several young children.  Henry Marsden Bell was just 3 yrs old.
How can I find out what happened to Mary after her husband Robert Bell's death in 1801?  I am wondering whether she gave the children up to foster care or did she herself have to go into care with the children?  I can't see how she could survive without getting help of some sort maybe even went into the workhouse for a short time.  What would be her choices in 1801 with several young children to care for and no husband?

I cannot find another marriage for her as yet.

Mary Bell b. 1753 and died 27 Dec. 1831 Barnard Castle, Durham.

Am trying to locate the death registration for Mary Bell b. 1753 and died 27 Dec. 1831, Barnard Castle, Durham, England.  She was 78 years old.  As there are no death certificates before 1837, I am trying to establish as much information on the transcript as possible.  I have tried to look on ancestry but seem to be blocked after 1815.
Many thanks.

That is a link to the burial register image from the Bishops Transcripts on Family Search.
Unfortunately her name date of burial (not date of death, but burial would have taken place within a day or so) and age at death is about all you are going to get.
