WAAF service numbers.

Hello all,

I am trying to research my mother-in-law's service record from WW2. To do this it would obviously be helpful to have her Service Number. Can someone point me in the correct direction or let me have the number based on the following.

Name: Elizabeth Helen CARLEY
Born: Chelmsford
Branch: WAAF
Rank: Sergeant
Based: Chilwell

Further to my previous post, I stupidly gave my mother-in-law's married name. At the time of her service she was Elizabeth Helen SHIPMAN

Her service number is not a requirement to obtaining her service record. The details you have, plus her death certificate, should be sufficient.

They say you should learn something every day - mine today is there were WAAFs at Chilwell. I knew there were about 5000 ATS there and that it was a huge camp but never any mention of WAAF. Wonder what they were doing there?
