USA arrival
« on: Thursday 02 February 17 12:43 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the arrival of Albert Edward Stott in the USA either late 1888 or 1889.

He married in Philadelphia in April 1890.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Wendy

There's a record for A. Stott :

A Stott 21 mechanic
English
dep Liverpool
dest  New York
arr 2 Aug 1889
Britannic

You haven't given the birth year so I've can't tell if this is likely to be the right one.

Not the right one I'm afraid, my Albert born 1863 Manchester, printer by trade.

Thanks anyway.

You can see the actual manifest here - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GPBD-96ZH?mode=g&i=209&cc=1921481  Oddly, the actual page has a date in 1879, but some of the other pages for the voyage say 1889.  I suspect the person writing it down had a momentary lapse of awareness of the year.

Hi Sandra, I did know about the grave for Albert and Ellen but not the daughter Ellen Crook.

I requested a photo of Alberts grave some time ago but haven't had any joy yet.

Thank you for your time.
