Looking for information on JOHN WILLIAM HENRY MARTIN.

Hi.

I am looking for help with JOHN WILLIAM HENRY MARTIN. He was born on 10 Sep 1904 in 15 Summer Road, Croydon, Surrey and married ETHEL FANNY COSSER on the 21 Jul 1928 in Parish Church, Reigate, Surrey. Johns parents were JOHN GEORGE MARTIN and ANN LUCAS. I never met him because the story was he and my grandmother split after he met someone else, but that may not be true. I would love to know what happened to him. Ethel worked in service all her life until she died in 1977, she was knocked down outside her home is Liss, Petersfield aged 80.

There is an attestation for him, as a Territorial, Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment on 15th January 1923.

That is very interesting. There cannot be that many John William Henry Martin's about?
Where did you find this information. I have searched the internet for weeks 
There has been no mention by the family about him being military, but if he had gone off with someone else, that maybe why no mention was made.

The military (note he was a Territorial) was from Ancestry.

Thank you for your help with my grandfather it is great to finally know something.
John William Henry married my grandmother on 21 Jul 1928 in Reigate, Surrey. So if it was him, I am surprised nothing was said. But as I said before, the story went that he had left her for another woman. I am not even sure they got divorced.

I am finding this whole family tree adventure exciting.

But I'm not seeing anything for Ethel and JWH?

I believe they never got divorced, but you know how it is stories get past down through families. I have looked and could not find anything.
This would mean if he was with anyone else, there would have been no marriage, so will make it challenging to find anything on him.

I am guessing who ever was with him when he died would have been on the death certificate, so that maybe a way to go to find out more.

The informant on a death certificate isn't always a relative, partner or even close friend- might be hospital or nursing home staff, coroner or other.

The birthdate on the 1980 death doesn't match the date you've posted. If it is the correct person then the informant might not have known the right date.

It's also possible that he didn't use both middle names which will make it more difficult to find the correct person.

Going by the electoral registers John and Ethel were together up to 1939 at least
